We tweet so that the world would act to help the residents of #Yarmouk refugee camp.
#Yarmouk was once the "capital of the Palestinian diaspora".
#Yarmouk was established in 1950s as a camp for Palestinian refugees.
#Yarmouk was one of the cultural and political centres of Palestinians in exile.
#Yarmouk was later fully enclosed by Damascus through it's growth.
#Yarmouk had 160 000 residents in early 2000s - 147 000 of them registered Palestinian refugees.
#Yarmouk became a battlezone in 2012 and has been mostly cut-off from outside world since then.
According to estimates 18 000 - 22 000 civilians remain in #Yarmouk.
There are estimated 3500 children in #Yarmouk.
Would delivery to #Yarmouk by UNRWA has been very limited in recent years.
#Yarmouk residents have not had running water since last summer.
Several hundred people have died as a result of malnutrition in #Yarmouk.
Only one hospital has been operating with minimum staff in #Yarmouk.
Civilians have often been targeted by combatants in #Yarmouk before the current events.
'Extrajudicial executions' have been reported from #Yarmouk.
At least 21 Palestinians have been killed in #Yarmouk since IS / ISIL / ISIS invaded.
At least 74 Palestinians have been imprisoned in #Yarmouk by IS / ISIL / ISIS.
According to some estimates IS / ISIL / ISIS controls 90 percent of #Yarmouk.
Optimistic estimate is that 2000 civilians have been evacuated from #Yarmouk in recent days.
But according to UNRWA it can only confirm that 94 civilians have been able to leave #Yarmouk.
#Yarmouk, created as a result of Nakba in 1948, is now the latest chapter in ongoing Nakba.
We ask all to bring publicity to the situation in #Yarmouk.
